Frequently Asked Questions

What is telehealth?

Telehealth is the use of digital devices and technologies for psychological and neuropsychological services remotely. These are technologies that you use from your home or a safe, private, and quiet space.

What is a Teleneuropsychological Assessment?

This is when the entire assessment is conducted via a HIPAA compliant video platform. Testing is completed while you are in your place of comfort and quiet while I provide the stimuli verbally or on the computer screen.

Are Teleneuropsychological Assessments approved by insurance?

Some insurance panels do not approve this service while Aetna does approve this testing. Several studies have been published that confirm telehealth assessments maintain the same validity as those in person, as long as the appropriate parameters are set in place.

Payments and Insurance

Session rates are comparable with Doctorate level specialist psychologists in the Los Angeles area. My private pay rates start at $300 an hour and vary depending on the service you are seeking.

Psychological and Neuropsychological Evaluations start at $4,500 and range depending on the referral question.

Please reach out to learn more about our rates for the specific services you are seeking.

Insurance: I am paneled with Aetna for neuropsychological and psychological testing. All other testing is considered out-of-network. Individuals may be reimbursed by their providers depending on medical necessity.

Payment is made by the client at the time of session, and if you choose, insurance will reimburse a percentage of the session cost. Reimbursement can be done with a “superbill” that lists the client’s diagnosis and other necessary information for insurance. Insurance providers require a diagnosis for payment and keep records of treatment, which may not be beneficial to some of our clients based on their profession or other factors.

Insurance plan coverage (for out of network providers) varies widely, so please check with your provider for specific coverage and rates of reimbursement.

Helpful questions to ask your insurance company:
• Do I have mental health coverage?
• What percentage of my bill will be covered for services obtained by an out-of-network provider?
• How many sessions will be covered per calendar year?
• What is my deductible and has it been met?
